If you fancy a race this weekend then there are several to choose from;
On Saturday, Fife AC host the popular Cupar 5 Mile Road Race. The race starts at 3pm with all entries (£5/£7) from 1pm onwards at the YMCA Hall, Bonnygate, Cupar. An accurately measured fast out and back course on quiet country roads. The course is suitable for setting a personal best. Please allow sufficient time to reach the race start on St. Mary’s Road which is approximately half a mile from the YMCA. Please note there are no showering facilities at the hall. After the race all runners will be provided with a free traditional Fife AC post-race tea.
On Sunday, the 2nd event in our 2009 Hill Running Grand Prix gets underway at the local and very popular Bishop Hill Race in Scotlandwell. The race starts at 2pm with entries on the day (£4) at Portmoak Village Hall. The race is 2.5 miles with 1000ft of climbing. A good turnout of club members is requested. If anyone would like to car share for this race due to limited parking in Scotlandwell then please meet at 12 Noon at Dunfermline Academy of Sport.
Also on Sunday, there are quite a few ladies from our club travelling to Arbroath to take part in the annual Smokies 10 Miler. Entries for this race are now closed.
The Lasswade 10 Mile Road Race takes place at 12 Noon on Sunday. Registration is from 09:45 – 11:15 am at Ferguson Park, Rosewell, Midlothian which is the home of Whitehill Welfare FC. The Race Start is at the west side of the village of Rosewell which is approximately 500m from Registration at Ferguson Park – click here to see a location plan for the race start. The village of Rosewell is situated seven miles south of Edinburgh and a mile to the east of the towns of Bonnyrigg and Lasswade. Direction signs to Registration at Ferguson Park will be erected from the Tesco roundabout at the junction of the A7 and A6094 between Dalkeith and Bonnyrigg. Click here for directions.
