Scottish Coal Carrying Championships

The annual Scottish Coal Carrying Championships were held in Kelty on Saturday afternoon where the runners carry a 50kg sack of coal and race over a 1K course.  Well done to Carnegie’s John Hargreaves who became the Scottish Champion crossing the finishing line in around 4 mins 40 secs.  Willie Rennie also completed this unique and challenging event.  A video of Saturday’s coal race can be found at
