Taylor and Thompson triumph at Loch Fitty X Country
Carnegie Harriers hosted their annual Loch Fitty Cross Country Race on Saturday afternoon. The 5 mile undulating course on the North side of the loch was solid underfoot due to the overnight frost which made for a testing race for the 35 runners taking part. Congratulations to race winner Iain Taylor who clocked 29.53 finishing one second clear of 2nd placed Tommy Lawrence who recorded 29.54. Pitreavie’s Barry Davie claimed 3rd place recording a time of 30.24 with fast improving Andrew Smith timing at 30.35 in 4th. Fabienne Thompson made a successful defence of her 2009 title winning the ladies race in 35.09 (12th overall) with Isobel Burnett running a strong race finishing 2nd lady in 36.50. Gail Murdoch placed 3rd lady in 37.29. In the age group categories Stevie Ogg won the M40 award (5th overall) in 30.47, Ian Johnston the M50 award (7th overall) in 32.00 and Bill Duff the M60 award (17th overall) in 36.54. Helena Sim was the leading F40 (22nd overall) in 38.54 and well done to Morna Flemingwho won the F50 award (27th overall) in 39.24.
