David Simpson wins Loch Fitty on club debut

Despite a low turnout of runners the 2nd Loch Fitty Cross Country Race was still a resounding success with the fourteen intrepid athletes enjoying their jaunt around a very muddy course on the north side of Loch Fitty.

Five Carnegie runners were amongst the 120 finishers at the Gartmorn 6 which is organised by the Wee County Harriers. The route follows a challenging but scenic six miles from Carsebridge, Sauchie to Gartmorn Dam and back.

Andy Symonds was the convincing winners of the The Mighty Deerstalker adventure race on Saturday. The event is described affectionately as a “big, muddy romp” through the countryside, forests and hills around the famous Borders village of Innerleithen.

The presentation of prizes for our Cross Country Grand Prix and All Rounder Competition will take place at 7.30pm on Sunday 16th March within The Dunkeld Suite at The King Malcolm Hotel, Dunfermline.

The 2nd Carnegie Harriers Cross Country Race at Loch Fitty takes place at 2pm on Sunday 9th March. This is a 5 mile race and is the final counting event in our Cross Country Grand Prix. All entries (NO ENTRY FEE) will be taken on the day at the Loch Fitty Fishery car park from 1pm. The race follows the same course as our Loch Fitty Trail Race course minus the road section. Please come along and take part in this fun event. Prizes will be awarded in all categories.
