The club’s AGM will take place at 7.30pm on Sunday 3rd June 2007 at the Dunkeld Suite, King Malcolm Hotel, Dunfermline.

 The 21st edition of our popular Auld Toun 10K Road Race took to the streets of Dunfermline on Wednesday evening with 334 runners completing the challenging course. A closely fought men’s race resulted in Murray (Hunters Bog Trotters) taking the honours in a fast 32.36 with 16 year old Scott McDonald (Central AC)excelling to finish second in 32.53. Northern Ireland athlete David Simpson (Willowfield)also broke the 33 minute barrier placing third in 32.56.The host club’s Ros Alexander competing in her first competitive race since November secured her third Auld Toun 10K ladies title clocking 38.19 for her efforts. Portobello Running Club’s Janet Dunbar enjoyed a strong run placing second lady in 38.53 while Pitreavie AAC’s Jayne Clark finished third lady in 39.39.

Pitreavie’s Scottish internationlist John Newsom was the convincing winner of the one miler at the Friday Evening Race Series held over a hilly course in Pittencrieff Park, Dunfermline. John clocked 4.38 to finish eight seconds clear of Fife AC’s Paul Roarty who was 2nd in 4.46 and the host club’s Tommy Lawrence who placed 3rd in 4.48. Former Friday evening mile race winner Lewis Millar (Central AC) finished 4th in 4.57 with Carnegie’s Mike Harvey 5th and 1st M40 in 5.05. Pitreavie junior Katherine Pennel excelled to win the ladies race in a fast 5.45 ahead of Carnegie’s Kate McKinnon (5.58) and Central AC’s Fiona Kelsall who was 3rd and first F35 in 6.23. Morna Fleming placed 1st F45 in 7.50 while Pitreavie’s George Hunter won the M50 award in a time of 6.03.

This Friday (4th May) is the first race in the Friday night series and is a counter for the Grand Prix. Please try to come along and support this event.We also need several volunteers to help out, either at the finish line or to marshall the course.
