Carnegie Harriers the Dunfermline running club held their annual Festive Forest run today. It is a counter in the clubs cross country grand prix.

The 17th staging of Carnegie Harrier’s Festive Forest Run was a resounding success with forty four club members completing the testing seven mile course within Blairadam Forest. Conditions were perfect for fast times with the forest trails firm underfoot and at 11am sharp the race got underway.From the gun, Ian Stewart and Lewis Lawson set the early pace with Tommy Lawrence shadowing close behind. The trio were soon joined by Mike Harvey as the race reached the start of the long climb. Meanwhile, Judy Turner established an early lead in the ladies race with Jacqui Higginbottom lying second ahead of Fabienne Thompson and Tracey Stamp.

The Carnegie Harriers Running Club Awards Evening took place on Sunday evening at the King Malcolm Hotel, Dunfermline and was very well attended by our club members. The prizes for our Road and Hill Running Grand Prix’s were presented along with the club’s Special Awards.

Saturday 8th December – East of Scotland Cross Country Championships, Stirling.
Carnegie Harriers were represented by 6 ladies and 16 men at Saturday’s East District Cross Country Championships held over a challenging course at Stirling University. Conditions were tough for everyone taking part with a biting cold wind and driving rain.

Twelve running Harriers, one injured club member and the team mascot RONAN made their way to Gorebridge Playing Fields on Sunday 4th November 2007 for the annual open cross country meet. As normal with Lasswade Athletics Club the event was organised like a well built swiss clock.

Carnegie Harriers running club, Dunfermline, were represented by six teams at Saturday’s National Cross Country Relay Championships in Cumbernauld. The annual event saw 52 ladies teams and 96 men’s teams complete the challenging 4K course. Carnegie ladies continued their successful year with our ‘A’ team placing 11th team overall and 3rd in the veteran category to win the bronze medals. Kate McKinnon undertook the first leg placing 9th (16.43) before Fabienne Thompson covered leg two in 18.08 (10th overall). Newly turned veteran female Judith Turner ran the anchor leg in 17.22 bringing the ladies home in total time of 52.13.
