Congratulations to Tommy Lawrence (300 points) and Judy Turner (300 points) who are the respective winners of our 2007/2008 Cross Country Grand Prix.

The series of nine races began back in October in Whitburn and reached its conclusion at our Loch Fitty Cross Country Race.  Ian Johnston (279 points) placed 2nd overall in the men’s competition but wins the M50 award. Ryan McKenzie (263 points) enjoyed a superb season on the country finishing 3rd overall and wins the 2nd Male Senior award. Robbie McKenzie (260 points) win the M40 award and Phil Smithard (116 points) the M60.  Fabienne Thompson (291 points) placed 2nd lady but wins the F40 award and Morna Fleming (268 points) is the leading F50.

Carnegie Harriers were represented by three members at Sunday’s Inverness Half Marathon which was also the opening event in the Stewarts Scottish Road Running Grand Prix.

Well done to Andrew Wright who excelled placing 5th overall from 1053 finishers in a fast time of 1.11.51. Scott Bradley enjoyed a superb run in the Highland capital setting a personal best of 1.12.24 placing 7th overall. Alastair McGouldrick made up the Carnegie trio clocking 1.45.40 in 426th position.

The presentation of prizes for our Cross Country Grand Prix and All Rounder Competition will take place at 7.30pm on Sunday 16th March within The Dunkeld Suite at The King Malcolm Hotel, Dunfermline.

The 2nd Carnegie Harriers Cross Country Race at Loch Fitty takes place at 2pm on Sunday 9th March. This is a 5 mile race and is the final counting event in our Cross Country Grand Prix. All entries (NO ENTRY FEE) will be taken on the day at the Loch Fitty Fishery car park from 1pm. The race follows the same course as our Loch Fitty Trail Race course minus the road section. Please come along and take part in this fun event. Prizes will be awarded in all categories.

Steady flow of entries already received for the Auld Toun 10K Road Race
The popular Auld Toun 10K Road Race organised by Carnegie Harriers takes place at 7.30pm on Wednesday 7th May 2008 from Pittencrieff Park, Dunfermline.Although the race is still over three months away we are pleased to announce that over 50 race entries have already been received. There is a race limit of 400 runners and if you would like to take part then an entry form can be downloaded HERE.
