A very well done to Phil Smithard and all his team of volunteers who set up and marshalled Sunday’s East District Cross Country League event from Queen Anne High School in Dunfermline. The recent wet weather made the course exceptionally challenging with muddy conditions underfoot for the majority of the course. The proceedings got underway at 1pm with the Under 11 Boy’s and Girls races around a 1.6km course. At 1.15pm the Under 13 Boy’s and Girls tackled a 3k course before the Under 15 Boys / Girls and Under 17 ladies at 1.35pm over 4.2k. At 1.55pm the Senior ladies and Under 17 men’s race covered a 6k course before the Senior men’s race took place at 2.30pm over 8.6k. All the races were excellent to watch and attracted a good number of competitors.
