<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Saturday  10th April - Edinburgh  parkrun 5K, Cramond</span></p>
<p><strong>Harriers set  fast times at the Edinburgh parkrun<br />
</strong>There was an  excellent  turnout of almost 40 club members at Saturday&#8217;s <strong>Edinburgh parkrun</strong> which  saw a field of 204 runners enjoy almost perfect conditions for the 5k run. The event incorporated  the 3rd counter in Carnegie&#8217;s <strong>Road Running Grand Prix</strong> with many  Harriers  recording personal bests.  2009 West Highland Way race winner <strong>Scott  Bradley</strong> was the leading Carnegie athlete placing 2nd overall in an  excellent  personal best of 15.53. <strong>Allan Fotheringham</strong> was the next Harrier  home  covering the fast, out and back course in 16.34 finishing 3rd overall  and 1st  M40. <strong>Roger Clark</strong> in 4th position was hot on his heels clocking a  time of  16.38 with <strong>Iain Taylor</strong> recording a parkrun best of 16.42 crossing  the  line in 5th position.  <strong>Alex Keenan</strong> on his return from injury ran a   parkrun PB of 17.09 (6th), <strong>Campbell Hutt</strong> recorded a new best of  17.10  (7th) and <strong>Andrew Smith</strong> clocked 17.21 placing 8th. Well done to <strong>Steven   King</strong> who ran a 5k PB of 17.38 (13th) and to leading M50 <strong>Ian  Johnston</strong> who timed at 17.56 finishing 17th.  There were strong runs from <strong>Alan  Cockburn</strong> (24th in 18.33), <strong>Ross Carrie</strong> (30th in 18.52) and <strong>John   Fulham</strong> (31st in 18.53) while <strong>Gail Murdoch</strong> ran a personal best  of  19.29 finishing 3rd lady overall. <strong>Darran Neilson</strong> set a 5k PB of  19.38  (42nd), <strong>Jon Farrimond</strong> made his Carnegie debut timing at 19.49  (46th) and  <strong>Kieran Morgan</strong> in his last race in his 40&#8217;s set a PB of 19.50  (47th).  <strong>Malcolm Smith</strong> and <strong>David Greig</strong> set PB&#8217;s of 19.52 and 19.53  respectively while <strong>Isobel Burnett</strong> was the elading F50 clocking a  fine  time of 20.01. <strong>Pamela Gilfillan</strong> on her parkrun debut ran a PB of  20.57,  <strong>Dru Baker</strong> clocked 21.30 and there were PB&#8217;s for <strong>Susan  Cederstrom</strong> (21.42) and <strong>Morna Fleming</strong> (21.53 and leading F55). <strong>Richie  Cunningham</strong> despite run the entire West Highland Way twice this week  still  managed his first parkrun in 23.02, <strong>Lesley Landels</strong> made her club  debut in  23.15, <strong>Louise Hewison</strong> clocked 23.24 and <strong>Bill Fairley</strong> timed  at  25.19.  Carnegie Harriers represented nearly 20% of the Edinburgh  parkrun  field and very well done to everyone who took part. Coffee and cakes  were  thoroughly enjoyed after the run in Cramond car park. <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Sunday 11th April &#8211; Heaven and Hell Half Marathon,  Scone</span></p>
<p>Congratulations to Gail Murdoch, Fabienne Thompson and  Helena Sim who won the ladies team prize at Sunday&#8217;s Heaven &amp; Hell  Half  Marathon from Scone near Perth.  Gail was the leading Carnegie athlete  covering the challenging 13.1 miler in 1.36.54 finsihing 5th lady  overall.   Fabienne placed 8th lady in 1.40.53 and Helena was 11th lady in  1.42.24.   Alison West clocked 1.53.54 and Derek Carswell timed at  2.03.46.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Sunday 11th April &#8211; Titanic Quarter 10K Road Race,  Belfast</span></p>
<p>Ian Johnston was amongst overall 1000 runners taking  part in the Titanic Quarter 10K Road Race in Belfast on Sunday afternoon  where  he finished 55th in 38.24.</p>

<p>Carnegie Harriers enjoyed a  successful day at Saturday&#8217;s <strong>National Six Stage Road Relays</strong> in  Livingston. The Championship event saw Carnegie&#8217;s Masters team win the  Gold medals after a very strong team performance around the 27  mile route. Carnegie&#8217;s senior &#8216;A&#8217; team placed 16th overall and the club&#8217;s senior  &#8216;B&#8217; team were 45th overall.</p>

<p>Carnegie Harriers enjoyed a  successful day at Saturday&#8217;s <strong>National Six Stage Road Relays</strong> in  Livingston. The Championship event saw Carnegie&#8217;s Masters team win the  Gold medals after a very strong team performance around the 27  mile route. Carnegie&#8217;s senior &#8216;A&#8217; team placed 16th overall and the club&#8217;s senior  &#8216;B&#8217; team were 45th overall.</p>
<p><strong>Ian Stewart</strong> undertook the 3.15 opening  stage for the Carnegie Masters (aged 40 and over) team covering the undulating  route in 17.26 placing 20th overall and 2nd in the Masters race. <strong>Lewis  Lawson</strong> kept the Harriers in 2nd Masters team position on Stage 2 clocking  33.25 for the 5.85 mile leg. <strong>Ian Johnston</strong> timed at 19.03 on Stage 3 (3.15  miles) as Carnegie remained in 2nd place behind Ron Hill Cambuslang in the  Masters Championship race.</p>
<p>In form <strong>Allan Fotheringham</strong> clocked an  impressive 32.40 on Stage 4 (5.85 miles) while <strong>Stevie Ogg</strong> on Stage 5  (3.15 miles) timed at 18.20. Moving onto the final stage, Ron Hill Cambuslang  were still in pole position in the Masters race but a steady run from <strong>Iain  Taylor</strong> saw Carnegie move into the lead over the last few miles. Iain clocked  34.03 for Stage 6 (5.85 miles) as Carnegie Harriers placed 11th team overall and  leading Masters team in 2.34.57.</p>
<p><strong>Ron Hill Cambuslang</strong> won the silver  medals in the Masters Championship in 2.35.47 and <strong>Calderglen Harriers</strong> took the bronze medals in 2.43.26.</p>
<p><strong>Calum McGaw</strong> clocked 18.01 (27th) on  Stage 1 followed by <strong>Roger Clark</strong> timing at 33.47 (28th) on Stage 2.  <strong>Alex Keenan</strong> on his return from injury covered the 3.15 mile third stage  in 18.11 (22nd) before <strong>Campbell Hutt</strong> moved the team into 20th position  over Stage 4 posting a time of 34.41. <strong>Steven King</strong> enjoyed a strong run  (18.27) on Stage 5 moving Carnegie into 16th position and <strong>Andrew Smith</strong> brought the team home in 16th place overall covering his 5.85 miles in  34.21.</p>
<p>Carnegie&#8217;s senior &#8216;B&#8217; team performed well finishing  45th team overall in 3.00.47. <strong>Mark Johnstone</strong> led the team off clocking  21.32 (55th) on Stage 1 before handing over to <strong>Pete Simpson</strong> who timed at  36.36 (47th) on Stage 2. <strong>Stephen Greer</strong> covered Stage 3 in 21.44 (50th)  and <strong>Bernt Cederstrom</strong> reached the end of Stage 4 in 39.16 (45th).  <strong>Kieran Morgan</strong> on the penultimate stage clocked 21.52 (44th) and  <strong>Malcolm Smith</strong> brought the senior &#8216;B&#8217; team ome in 39.47 (45th).</p>
<p>Earlier in 2010, Carnegie enjoyed Gold medal success  at the National Cross Country Relays in Cumbernauld along with the Scottish  Veteran Harriers 4 Stage Road Relays at Strathclyde  Park.</p>

<p><span id="1185" style="display: inline;"><strong>Andrew Wright</strong> undertook the opening leg of the wet and undulating parkland course covering his 4,000m in a fast 13.52.  <strong>Ian Stewart</strong> clocked an excellent 14.44 on stage two before <strong>Allan Fotheringham</strong> posted a stage three time of 15.29.  <strong>Tommy Lawrence</strong> ran the anchor leg in a quick 14.29 to bring the Carnegie team home in 13th position overall (58.28) and <strong>1st Masters team</strong>.</span></p>
<p>Carnegie&#8217;s Masters &#8216;B&#8217; Team also performed well finishing 43rd overall and 4th Masters team.  <strong>Mike Harvey</strong> on stage one recorded a time of 15.53, <strong>Lewis Lawson</strong> timed at 15.25 on stage two, <strong>Stevie Ogg</strong> was 15.58 on stage three and <strong>Steven King</strong> ran stage four in 15.56 giving the team a total time of 1.03.12.</p>
<p>The Carnegie Senior &#8216;A&#8217; team placed 51st overall (1.04.55) with fine efforts from <strong>Peter Humphreys</strong> (15.56), <strong>Calum McGaw</strong> (16.23), <strong>John Lambie</strong> (15.43) and <strong>Ian Johnston</strong> (16.53). <span id="1187" style="display: inline;"> <strong>Niall Wilson</strong> ran stage one in 17.04 and <strong>Paul Arnott</strong> covered stage two in 19.17.  <strong>Stephen Greer</strong> completed stage three in 19.21 before <strong>John Fulham</strong> brought the team home on stage four in 17.55.</span></p>
<p>Carnegie&#8217;s ladies fielded three complete teams with our Master&#8217;s team placing a highly creditable 27th overall (55.57) and 4th in the Master&#8217;s category. <strong>Fabienne Thompson</strong> covered the opening stage in 17.57, <strong>Gail Murdoch</strong> timed at 19.16 and <strong>Alison Whyte</strong> clocked 18.44.</p>
<p>Our Carnegie senior teams finished 38th (59.25) and 62nd (1.09.40) respectively.  <strong>Helena Sim</strong> ran stage one in 20.03, <strong>Linda James</strong> also clocked 20.03 on stage two while <strong>Grace McKenzie</strong> enjoyed an excellent run on the anchor leg bringing the team into 38th position in 19.19.  <strong>Lee Polson</strong> put in a strong performance clocking 19.40 on stage one, <strong>Lesley Halstead</strong> recorded 23.20 on stage two and <strong>Mehrnaz Campbell</strong> timed at 26.40 on stage three placing our ladies home in 62nd.</p>
<p>Very well done to all our athletes who took part and to our club captain&#8217;s <strong>Fabienne Thompson</strong> and <strong>Ian Johnston</strong> for all their hard work organising our teams.</p>

The Tour of Fife reached its conclusion on Sunday afternoon at the 3.7 mile <strong>Arso Vertitus Trail Race</strong> by Falkland and very well done to our 21 &#8216;Tourists&#8217; who completed the<span id="1116" style="display: inline;"> gruelling 5 days of racing.<strong>Campbell Hutt</strong> finished his Tour in style placing 7th overall in the final race in 23.20.  <strong>Stevie Ogg</strong> placed 22nd in 24.41 and <strong>Ian Johnston</strong> was 23rd in 24.50.</span></p>
<p><strong>Isobel Burnett</strong> was the leading F50 in 28.51, <strong>Gail Murdoch</strong> finished in 29.06 and <strong>Pauline Walker</strong> in 29.32.</p>
<p>After five events, <strong>Campbell Hutt</strong> placed 11th in the overall results in 1.54.11 to finish the leading Carnegie runner.  <strong>Stevie Ogg</strong> finished 15th in 1.57.02, <strong>Ian Johnston</strong> was 24th in 1.59.58 and <strong>Steven King</strong> placed 26th in 2.01.48.</p>
<p>Congratulations to <strong>Isobel Burnett</strong> who was the leading Carnegie lady and 1st Female Supervet in 2.19.08.  <strong>gail Murdoch</strong> completed her Tour in 2.20.05 (11th lady), <strong>Pauline Walker</strong> was 3rd FSV in 2.21.13 and <strong>Helena Sim</strong> finished in 2.24.49.  All the Harriers results are now posted on the results section of our website.</p>

		<description><![CDATA[<p><span style="color: red;"><strong>Tour of Fife Stage 4 &#8211; Run Forrest Run</strong></span><br />
A huge field of 160 runners completed stage 4 of the <strong>Tour of Fife</strong> which was held over a 5 mile course in Tentsmuir Forest near Leuchars. <strong>Campbell Hutt</strong> continued his<span id="1113" style="display: inline;"> good form on his Tour debut placing 14th overall in 28.57 maintaining his position as the leading Carnegie runner.  <strong>Stevie Ogg</strong> finished 17th in 29.27 and <strong>Ian Johnston</strong> enjoyed a good run clocking 29.50 (21st).  <strong>Steven King</strong> placed 25th in 30.19 while <strong>Colin Reid</strong> was 43rd in 32.05.  <strong>John Fulham</strong> made the &#8216;top 50&#8242; placing 49th in 33.03 and <strong>Paul Arnott</strong> ran well finishing 64th in 34.31.<strong>Gail Murdoch</strong> was Carnegie&#8217;s leading lady finishing 67th overall (11th lady) in 34.52, <strong>Pauline Walker</strong> was 13th lady (1st F45) in 35.11 and <strong>Helena Sim</strong> was 14th lady in 35.39.  <strong>Isobel Burnett</strong> was 2nd F50 in 35.51.</span></p>

		<description><![CDATA[<p>The heat is on at the Brig Bash 5<br />
There was a huge entry of over 200 runners at the Brig Bash 5 in Bridge of Earn on Wednesday evening. The hot and humid conditions didn&#8217;t appear to affect the leading runners with the host club&#8217;s Mike Carroll (Perth Road Runners) scorching around the course to victory in 26.04. Fife AC&#8217;s Neil Young placed second in 26.25 ahead of Jeff Farquhar (Pitreavie AAC) who clocked 26.56. Less than ten days after winning the 95 mile West Highland Way Race, Scott Bradley was back in action recording a time of 27.29, placing 4th overall and leading Carnegie&#8217;s men to 1st team prize. Peter Humphreys was the next Harrier home finishing 9th and 1st M40 in 28.58. Roger Clark completed the winning men&#8217;s team placing 10th in 29.13. Despite the heat, Sid James ran a personal best of 29.45 (18th) and new member Campbell Hutt was 22nd in 29.58. Fabienne Thompson was Carnegie&#8217;s leading lady in 33.10 winning the F35 award while Lynne Bennet clocked a personal best of 35.19. Linda James continued her run of good form setting a personal best of 37.06.
