Saturday 31st March – Scottish National 4 & 6 Stage Road Relays, Livingston

Well done to the six men and eight ladies that took part in Saturday’s Road Relay Championships. This was the first time that we have had two ladies teams taking part in this event although it was disapointing that a club of our size could only muster up one men’s team.

Edinburgh Half Marathon

Sunday 1st April – Edinburgh Forthside Half Marathon

Carnegie’s Cathy Mutwa won the ladies title at Sunday’s Edinburgh Forthside Half Marathon in a fast 1.13.52.  Cathy placed an excellent 9th overall from the 2756 finishers who enjoyed superb running conditions in this 2nd edition of the Capital city’s event.   Jamie Philip performed superbly slicing over two minutes from his personal best clocking a time of 1.14.59 in 16th position overall.  Alan Cockburn’s hard winter training paid dividends as set new a personal best of 1.26.09 (114th) while Steve Earl timed at 1.26.52 in 126th place.  There were fine runs from Allan Wilson and Angela Wallace who crossed the line together in 1.42.41 and well done to Rachel Hurst who completed her first race after a stress fracture in 1.44.10.  Laura Stewart completed the eight strong Carnegie contingent of runners covering the 13.1 miles in 1.53.01.
