21 Harriers complete the 2009 Tour of Fife
The Tour of Fife reached its conclusion on Sunday afternoon at the 3.7 mile Arso Vertitus Trail Race by Falkland and very well done to our 21 ‘Tourists’ who completed the gruelling 5 days of racing.Campbell Hutt finished his Tour in style placing 7th overall in the final race in 23.20. Stevie Ogg placed 22nd in 24.41 and Ian Johnston was 23rd in 24.50.

Tour of Fife Stage 4 – Run Forrest Run
A huge field of 160 runners completed stage 4 of the Tour of Fife which was held over a 5 mile course in Tentsmuir Forest near Leuchars. Campbell Hutt continued his good form on his Tour debut placing 14th overall in 28.57 maintaining his position as the leading Carnegie runner. Stevie Ogg finished 17th in 29.27 and Ian Johnston enjoyed a good run clocking 29.50 (21st). Steven King placed 25th in 30.19 while Colin Reid was 43rd in 32.05. John Fulham made the ‘top 50′ placing 49th in 33.03 and Paul Arnott ran well finishing 64th in 34.31.Gail Murdoch was Carnegie’s leading lady finishing 67th overall (11th lady) in 34.52, Pauline Walker was 13th lady (1st F45) in 35.11 and Helena Sim was 14th lady in 35.39. Isobel Burnett was 2nd F50 in 35.51.
The heat is on at the Brig Bash 5
There was a huge entry of over 200 runners at the Brig Bash 5 in Bridge of Earn on Wednesday evening. The hot and humid conditions didn’t appear to affect the leading runners with the host club’s Mike Carroll (Perth Road Runners) scorching around the course to victory in 26.04. Fife AC’s Neil Young placed second in 26.25 ahead of Jeff Farquhar (Pitreavie AAC) who clocked 26.56. Less than ten days after winning the 95 mile West Highland Way Race, Scott Bradley was back in action recording a time of 27.29, placing 4th overall and leading Carnegie’s men to 1st team prize. Peter Humphreys was the next Harrier home finishing 9th and 1st M40 in 28.58. Roger Clark completed the winning men’s team placing 10th in 29.13. Despite the heat, Sid James ran a personal best of 29.45 (18th) and new member Campbell Hutt was 22nd in 29.58. Fabienne Thompson was Carnegie’s leading lady in 33.10 winning the F35 award while Lynne Bennet clocked a personal best of 35.19. Linda James continued her run of good form setting a personal best of 37.06. The complete set of results can be found HERE.
