Carnegie Harriers were crowned Scottish Veteran Road Relay Champions after winning Sunday’s event which was held at Strathclyde Park, Motherwell. Competing against strong opposition from the West of Scotland, Lewis Lawson undertook the opening leg placing 4th in 21.12. Lewis handed across to Allan Fotheringham who brought Carnegie into 2nd position at halfway covering the 3.9 mile stage in 20.44. Ian Stewart put in an excellent run (20.38) on leg 3 bringing the Harriers into pole position over the penultimate stage. Tommy Lawrence on the anchor leg had a superb race (20.23) managing to hold off Shettleston’s Andy Little to ensure Championship success for Carnegie in 1.22.57 with Shettleston only six seconds behind in 1.23.03.Carnegie’s ‘B’ team also peformed admirably with Stevie Ogg (22.11), Steven King (22.19), Peter Humphreys (21.44) and Mike Harvey (21.51) placing 8th overall in 1.28.05.

Every year The Dunblane Hydro Hotel plays host to a 7.5 Mile Road Race.

The event starts and finishes in the grounds of the famous hotel.

The course route heads north through the village of Kinbuck.
After crossing the River Allan at Cromlix Bridge it turns left and follows Auchenlay Road back towards Dunblane.

The event will take place at 7.30pm on Wednesday 27th May from Pittencrieff Park, Dunfermline. Entries are being accepted on-line by clicking HERE or you can download an entry form HERE.
