Tuesday 25th May - Ravenscraig Park One Mile Race, Kirkcaldy Fast times at Ravenscraig Park one mile race
Carnegie’s Calum and Fergus McGaw were both in action on Tuesday evening at the Ravenscraig Park One Mile Race in Kirkcaldy. Calum clocked an impressive 4.48 finishing 3rd overall while Fergus set a personal best of 5.19 placing 8th.

Wednesday 5th May – Strathkinnes to Blebocraigs Road Race
The opening race in Fife AC’s midweek race series saw Melanie Sinclair place 79th in 36.15 at the Strathkinnes to Blebocraigs Road Race.
Friday 7th May - Friday Evening Race Series, 1 Mile Road Race, Pittencrieff Park, Dunfermline
Friday Evening Race Success for Owen Miller
Owen Miller (Dunfermline & West Fife AC) was the convincing winner of the opening one mile race in Carnegie’s Friday Evening Race Series. Miller pulled clear from the chasing pack just after halfway before reaching the finish in a fast 4.59.  Pitreavie AAC’s Lewis Donaldson covered the testing course in 5.10 placing 2nd overall with the host clubs Campbell Hutt finishing 3rd in 5.15. Pitreavie junior athlete Scott McAlpine ran a strong race placing 4th in 5.16 with his club mate Barry Davie finishing 5th in 5.18.  The ladies race produced some excellent times with junior athletes occupying the first three places. Ailidh Reid (Pitreavie AAC) was the leading lady in 6.17 with Fife AC’s Laura Gibson finishing 2nd lady in 6.26 and Amy McAlpine, 3rd in 7.04.  Carnegie’s Robert Milton was the 1st M40 (10th overall) in 5.49, Alan Gibson (Unattached) was 1st M50 in 6.55 and Susan Cederstrom was the 1st F40 in 7.37.  Well done to all the runners who took part and to everyone who helped with the race organisation.
Saturday 8th May - Edinburgh parkrun 5K, Cramond
The Edinburgh parkrun 5k attracted two Carnegie runners on Saturday morning with Ross Carrie clocking 19.58 placing 24th and Paul Arnott timed at 22.02 finishing 49th.
Saturday 8th May – Penicuik 10K Road Race
Kieran Morgan was the sole Harrier at the Penicuik 10K Road Race where he placed 91st in 46.26.
Sunday 9th May – Ignis Asset Management Women’s 10K Road Race
On Sunday morning a field of over 13,000 ladies took part in the Ignis Asset Management Women’s 10K Road Race in Glasgow. Angela Wallace returned to competitive action placing 221st in 47.01 and Lisa Carrie made her Carnegie debut finishing 5610th in 1.07.34.
Sunday 9th May – North Berwick Novice Triathlon
Carnegie’s Grace McKenzie made her triathlon debut on Sunday at the North Berwick Novice Triathlon finishing an excellent 8th lady overall in 50.30

Wednesday 28th April – Self Transcendence 5K Road Race, Meadows, Edinburgh Kieran Morgan clocked 20.44 at last Wednesday’s Self Transcendence 5K in Edinburgh placing 39th and Catriona McCracken finished 9th lady in 21.24.

Harriers in action at the 53 mile Highland Fling
Several members of Carnegie Harriers took part in Saturday’s Highland Fling Race which covers an incredibly challenging 53 miles along the West Highland Way from Milngavie to Tyndrum. Peter Humphreys was the leading Carnegie athlete placing an excellent 22nd overall in 9.38.58. David Greig was the next Harrier home clocking 10.26.15 (65th) followed by Andy Sim who timed at 10.38.44. Carnegie’s men finished 4th team overall.  Gail Murdoch reached the finish in Tyndrum in 10.50.58 (92nd), Fabienne Thompson was 122nd in 11.21.01 and Helena Sim finished 134th in 11.28.44. Carnegie’s ladies finished 3rd ladies team overall. Neil Campbell finished 224th in 13.29.35.
