Tommy Lawrence was the leading Carnegie runner at the Glenrothes 10K Road Race where he finished 4th overall in 34.55. Roger Clark placed 10th in 36.31 and Campbell Hutt made his club debut placing 18th in 38.59. Keiran Morgan ran a personal best of 45.14 (81st) and Allan Brannigan timed at 47.24 (110th). Gillian McCracken finsihed 5th F35 in 48.07 and James Small was 171st in 50.40.

Calum McGaw finished 10th at the Self Transcendence Two Mile Race in The Meadows, Edinburgh covering the two lap course in 10.57. Fergus McGaw clocked 12.24 finishing 26th and Keiran Morgan was 38th in 13.36.

There was an excellent turnout of Carnegie members at Thursday evening’s Milnathort Dash which is organised by Kinross Road Runners. Ian Stewart placed 2nd overall in the huge field of nearly 200 runners clocking 29.58 and Tommy Lawrence was 4th in 30.14. Peter Humphreys also made the top ten placing 9th and 1st M40 in 31.31. Judy Turner put in a very strong run over the undulating countryside course and was rewarded by finishing 3rd lady in 35.25. Fabienne Thompson continued her run of good form placing 6th lady in 36.25 while Isobel Burnett won the F50 award timing at 37.08. There were many other good performances including new member Derek Cassells who clocked 34.44 (32nd), Alan Manson (35.53, 47th), Ben Borkowski (36.15, 53rd), Paul Arnott (37.28, 73rd), Lynne Bennet (38.51, 89th) and Linda James (41.06, 116th). The annual Scottish Coal Carrying Championships were held in Kelty on Saturday afternoon where the runners carry a 50kg sack of coal and race over a 1K course. Well done to Carnegie’s John Hargreaves who became the Scottish Champion crossing the finishing line in around 4 mins 40 secs. Willie Rennie also completed this unique and challenging event. ROAD RUNNING GRAND PRIX
After six completed events in our Road Running Grand Prix, Ian Johnston leads the men with 234 points, Sid James is 2nd with 228 points and Peter Humphreys is 3rd with 193 points.
