Carnegie Harriers running club, Dunfermline, were represented by six teams at Saturday’s National Cross Country Relay Championships in Cumbernauld. The annual event saw 52 ladies teams and 96 men’s teams complete the challenging 4K course. Carnegie ladies continued their successful year with our ‘A’ team placing 11th team overall and 3rd in the veteran category to win the bronze medals. Kate McKinnon undertook the first leg placing 9th (16.43) before Fabienne Thompson covered leg two in 18.08 (10th overall). Newly turned veteran female Judith Turner ran the anchor leg in 17.22 bringing the ladies home in total time of 52.13.

Nikki May led Carnegie’s ladies to team success at Sunday’s Aviemore Highland Half Marathon. Starting at Badaguish the race follows a very scenic course around Loch Morlich before heading towards Aviemore itself. Nikki who has been in superb form recently won the ladies race in 1.25.11 and backed up by Kate McKinnon (1.31.08) and Gail Murdoch (1.33.25, PB) won the ladies team title. Duncan McGougan clocked 1.18.41 placing 2nd male veteran and 5th overall.
