Carnegie Harriers Running Club Awards Evening

The Carnegie Harriers Running Club Awards Evening took place on Sunday evening at the King Malcolm Hotel, Dunfermline and was very well attended by our club members. The prizes for our Road and Hill Running Grand Prix’s were presented along with the club’s Special Awards.

The Most Improved Male award was presented to Alasdair McKinnon in recognition of the 14 personal bests that he set in 2007.

The Most Improved Lady award was presented to Judith Turner who has showed huge improvement on the road, cross country and hills.

Scott Bradley was presented the Best Newcomer award in recognition of his achievements over 10K, Half Marathon and the Marathon.

Andy Symonds was presented the Marathon Award after a superb season on the European Mountains. Andy placed 4th overall in the Buff World Sky Running Championships which included a first place at a mountain marathon in Cortena, Italy and a 9th place in a mountain marathon in Zegama, Spain. Andy also placed second in the elite class at the OMM (Original Mountain Marathon) which involved running two marathons on consecutive days in the Lowther Hills.

Phil Smithard was presented with a ‘Services to the Club’ Award in recognition to the hard work put in organising the recent East District Cross Country Relays. Congratulations to all our award winners and thanks to everyone who came along to the Awards Evening.
