An excellent field of 70 runners assembled in Tillicoultry for the inaugural Law Breaker Hill Race which featured a 5.3k race from Tillicoultry Glen to the 1800ft summit of The Law in the Ochil Hills and back. From the gun, 17 year old Robbie Simpson (Banchory Stonehaven AC) forced the pace, reaching the summit in 22.27 followed by Clydesdale Harrier Prasad Prasad (22.50) and Alasdair Anthony (Ochil Hill Runners) who was 23.20 at halfway. In the ladies race, Fiona Maxwell (Mourne Runners) reached the summit in 6th place overall in a fast 26.47. On the steep descent, Robbie Simpson increased his lead reaching the finish in 32.51 followed by Ochil’s Alasdair Anthony who placed 2nd in 33.46 and Clydesdale’s Prasad Prasad who was 3rd in 34.48. Brian Marshall (HELP) placed 4th in 35.24 and Dan Gay (HBT) was 5th in 37.05.Fiona Maxwell won the ladies race (12th overall) in 40.13 ahead of 2nd placed Claire Gordon (HBT) who clocked 45.56 and 3rd placed Angela Martin (Unatt) who timed at 53.45. Deeside’s Alan Smith was the leading M40 in 38.04 (7th overall) and Bill Maxwell (Mourne Runners) the leading M50 in 41.45. Carnegie’s Susan Cederstrom won the F40 award in 59.56. Ochil Hill Runners were the leading team with 45 points with Carnegie Harriers placing 2nd team with 48 points.
The leading Carnegie runners were 11th placed Richie Cunningham (39.54), 16th placed Scott Bradley (40.56), 21st placed Sandy Bennet (42.52), 28th placed Kenny MacDonald (44.16) and 39th placed Alan Manson (47.51). There was a good turnout of 13 Carnegie runners in the race.
