Auld Toun 10k Road Race – Results & Photos

 The 21st edition of our popular Auld Toun 10K Road Race took to the streets of Dunfermline on Wednesday evening with 334 runners completing the challenging course. A closely fought men’s race resulted in Murray (Hunters Bog Trotters) taking the honours in a fast 32.36 with 16 year old Scott McDonald (Central AC)excelling to finish second in 32.53. Northern Ireland athlete David Simpson (Willowfield)also broke the 33 minute barrier placing third in 32.56.The host club’s Ros Alexander competing in her first competitive race since November secured her third Auld Toun 10K ladies title clocking 38.19 for her efforts. Portobello Running Club’s Janet Dunbar enjoyed a strong run placing second lady in 38.53 while Pitreavie AAC’s Jayne Clark finished third lady in 39.39.

Sixth placed Jeff Farquhar (Pitreavie AAC) won the M40 award covering the hilly 6.2 miles in 34.36 while club mate Archie Duncan took the M50 title in 38.00 placing a superb 28th overall. Fife AC’s George Black had a successful race collecting the M60 prize in 42.19. Carole Fortune representing Gala Harriers clocked 43.35 to win the F35 award and City of Edinburgh’s Kim Forbes timed at 43.41 to place first in the F45 category.

Carnegie Harriers triumphed in the male, female and veteran team competitions ahead of Pitreavie AAC and Fife AC.
