Dunfermline Half Marathon May 2009

Great weather for a race

Carnegie Harriers Tommy Lawrence was in top form at Sunday’s Dunfermline City Half Marathon clocking an impressive 1.16.25 finishing 8th overall and 1st local runner for the 5th year in succession!

The race which incorporated the Scottish Half Marathon Championships saw nineteen Harriers complete the challenging two lap course and was won by Shettleston’s Tsegezeab Woldemichael in a fast 1.06.59. Kevin Mathie was the second Carnegie runner to reach the finish in Pittencrieff Park. Kevin timed at 1.24.39 (25th, followed by Ian Johnston who placed 2nd M50 in 1.25.44.

Kristin Lownie was Carnegie’s leading lady, placing 94th overall and 10th lady in 1.33.10. Linda James finished 2nd F40 in 1.44.09 while Morna Fleming timed at 1.55.53 (2nd F50) and Mehrnaz Campbell finished in 2.15.57.

Well done also to Iain Thomson who placed 2nd M60 in 1.36.59 and Allan Brannigan who set a personal best of 1.45.37.
