Harriers in good form at East District Cross Country Championships

Saturday 8th December – East of Scotland Cross Country Championships, Stirling.

Carnegie Harriers were represented by 6 ladies and 16 men at Saturday’s East District Cross Country Championships held over a challenging course at Stirling University. Conditions were tough for everyone taking part with a biting cold wind and driving rain.

Judith Turner found the conditions to her liking as she excelled finishing 15th overall and 2nd F35 in the ladies clocking a time of 25.56. Kate McKinnon placed 26th in 26.52 while Tracey Stamp was 36th in 27.40 resulting in a 7th place position in the team event.

Tommy Lawrence continued his good form on the country finishing 15th male in 33.45 while Ian Stewart was the leading M50 (40th overall) in 35.44. Lewis Lawson finished 49th in 36.03 while Scott Bradley contesting his first cross country race was 67th in 36.56.

Carnegie’s men placed 8th overall in the senior men’s team event and 2nd in the Master’s event.
