Crossgates Paarlauf success for Bill Duff and Iain Taylor
The new community woodland course in Crossgates proved an excellent venue for the 3rd annual Paarlauf which is co-hosted by Carnegie Harriers and Pitreavie AAC. The race involved twelve teams of paired runners completing eight laps of a snow covered 1k course. A handicapping system was put in place to match the teams and amidst heavy snow showers the event got underway.  Well done to Bill Duff and Iain Taylor who were the winning team clocking a time of 32.33 having taking the lead on lap three and gradually opening up a gap on the chasing teams. Matt Meade and Peter Morrison ran a strong race finishing second overall in 32.55 with Ian Johnston and Willie Rennie claiming third spot in 33.04. Everyone who took part appeared to thoroughly enjoy themselves and many thanks to Ian Johnston and Barry Davie (Pitreavie AAC) for their superb race organisation and prizes. Thanks also to all those who assisted with timekeeping and marshalling on such a cold and snowy morning. The complete set of results can be found below;
