Scott Bradley wins the West Highland Way Race
Congratluations to Carnegie’s Scott Bradley who won the 95 mile West Highland Way Race reaching the finish in Fort William in an amazing 16 hours 11 minutes 56 seconds! Scott who is in his first year of ultra running has recorded the 2nd fastest time ever in the event’s history and the fastest by a Scottish athlete. Richie Cunningham also excelled finishing 3rd overall in a personal best of 16 hours 24 minutes which is the 4th fastest time in the event’s history. Richie removed an amazing 2 hrs 3 mins from his previous best time which he set in 2008.
Stevie Ogg in his first West Highland Way adventure has finished in 21 hrs 25 mins 06 secs (24th overall) which is an incredible run especially considering his longest run in preparation for the event was a mere 3 hours!   Well done to Lynne Kuz who completed her 6th West Highland Way Race in 25 hrs 10 mins 04 secs placing 57th overall and leading F45. Gail Murdoch put in a strong effort over her 95 miles reaching Fort William in 27 hrs 49 mins 58 secs and congratulations to Fiona Rennie and Pauline Walker who completed their 6th and 7th West Highland Way’s respectively crossing the line together in 29 hrs 43 mins 08 secs.  Unfortunately Iain Thompson has had to withdraw from the event after reaching Bridge of Orchy.

A special thanks to all our runners support crews who provided encouragement and backup throughout the weekend. Jan-Albert Lantink from Holland finished 2nd overall in 16 hrs 21 mins and the ladies race has been won by Sharon Law in 19 hrs 55 mins 28 secs. BBC Scotland are covering the event and the race will be featured on the Adventure Show later this year.  The complete set of results can be found on the West Highland Way Race website by clicking HERE.
