Well done Judith.

The other photos did not turn out as the light was low and my camera is c*@p

A record field of 34 runners took part in Saturday’s Kelty Families Initiative Blairadam Trail Race which is organised by club member Jock Hargreaves. The planned 10K route had to be shortened to just over 8K due to re-construction of a forest path but this didn’t deter the enthusiasm of those taking part.

Ian Johnston was the first Carnegie runner home clocking 34.41 in 5th position (1st M50). Judy Turner found the hills to her liking as she romped round the tough course in 34.45 (6th place overall) to win the ladies race. Members of Fife AC were out in force occupying the leading three positions in the men’s race which was won by Chris Russell.

Carnegie’s Nick Weir placed 10th overall in 36.59 and was just ahead of Alan Cockburn who was 11th in 37.07. Stephen Greer enjoyed a good run around Blairadam Forest placing 15th in 40.16 with Garry Taylor 18th in 41.03. Iain Thomson enjoyed his first race through the Forest timing at 41.58 in 20th position while Campbell Reid placed 24th in 42.51. Marianne Young placed 28th in 45.35, Neil Campbell, 30th in 48.23 and new member to be Lesley Halstead finished 33rd in 50.25.
